The center is housed in the renovated Klimenti Primary School, a stone building originally constructed in the early 20th century with funding from Andreas Syngros, part of a broader effort to build similar schools across the then Greek territory. Recent restoration efforts have carefully preserved the building's original form, highlighting its beautiful stone masonry and fully integrating it into the natural mountainous surroundings of Ziria.
Situated at an elevation of 980 meters, the center is only a 20-minute drive from Kiato and sea level. The journey itself is captivating throughout the year, as the ever-changing landscape offers a different charm each season, while the region's rich history and mythology reveal themselves through countless traces and signs, inviting visitors to explore.
The center implements a wide range of environmental education programs, participates in national thematic networks for environmental education, and organizes seminars for the training of teachers and other social groups. How can a school visit the Sikyona Environmental Education Center?
Every year, at the beginning of the school year, the Center sends an invitation to the Heads of School Activities of the Primary and Secondary Education Directorates of the Corinthia Regional Unit, organizing the implementation of Educational Programs or 2-hour educational visits for school groups from these levels.
