The Chapel of Agia Paraskevi (Megalos Valtos)

Megalos Valtos is the main village in the valley of Selliandros. The river that runs through the eastern outskirts of the villages of Lalioti and Diminio draws most of its water from the area of Megalos Valtos, specifically from the Syié springs. Amidst the dense plane trees, just before the road descends toward the springs, stands the picturesque stone chapel of Agia Paraskevi, built in the early 20th century. The area is idyllic in every way: a unique natural environment perfect for low-demand hikes, coolness in the summer, vibrant colors in the fall, and a view that enchants toward the valley of Selliandros. The chapel of Agia Paraskevi, which celebrates every year on July 26, is an essential stop for visitors before heading down to the lush paradise of the Syié springs and its hidden secrets!
